Arianhrod Esw Sweydyr

Arianhrod Esw Sweydyr is a duelist of the Sweydyr blade-line, a hereditary lineage of sword-trained women serving within the Imperium of Man. She is recorded as a distaff swordswoman of the line and as a sister-line kinswoman of the better-attested duelist Angharad Esw Sweydyr, with whom she shares both lineage and martial training.

The Sweydyr line is described in surviving accounts as a bred and trained caste of blade-women, raised from early life in close-quarters combat and placed into the service of Imperial agents, inquisitors, and their retinues as bodyguards and enforcers. Arianhrod’s own course of service is not fully attested in accessible records; she appears chiefly by reference alongside Angharad, with later tradition holding that the two represent parallel branches of the same lineage rather than a single individual under two names.

Arianhrod’s significance rests principally on what her existence confirms about the Sweydyr line as an institution: that it produced more than one named duelist of note, and that its women were trained and deployed as a recognisable type within the wider Eisenhorn continuity rather than as a single unique figure.
