Be’lakor

Be’lakor, known as the Dark Master, is the first Daemon Prince, who has never confined himself to the favour of a single Chaos god. His long-standing aim has been to become a power that all the others must tolerate, rather than the favourite of any one of them. He claimed his title in shadow before the Heresy had received its name, and he has since resented every rival that obtained a pantheon of its own.

Be’lakor has possessed mortals, taken control of knights, and moved through the Era Indomitus as a power that works against Vashtorr as readily as against the Imperium. His followers, the Disciples of Be’lakor, are not a Legion. They are an army held together by his grievance.

The four Chaos gods made use of him, and he has not forgiven it. That resentment defines his standing: he acts as an adversary of the Imperium and of rival Chaos powers alike, and he answers to none of them.
