Crimson Slaughter

The Crimson Slaughter are a Chaos Space Marines warband of the Eye of Terror, forged from a Chapter whose original name was lost to warp corruption. Their loyalty lies chiefly with Khorne, though like most such warbands they pay grim tribute to the wider Ruinous Powers, and their black-and-crimson heraldry marks them among the most zealously destructive of the Eye’s raiding fleets.

Accounts hold that the warband’s forebears were an Imperial Chapter that pursued a foe into a warp-wracked stretch of the Eye of Terror and did not return in any recognisable form; prolonged exposure to the currents of Chaos is said to have stripped away their former oaths, names, and even their gene-seed lineage, leaving only a martial brotherhood remade in the image of slaughter. What remains is a fleet-based warband without a fixed homeworld, striking from hidden anchorages within the Eye against Imperial holdings along the Cadian Gate and the wider Segmentum Obscurus, and fighting alongside or in rivalry with other Chaos Space Marine forces drawn to the same warp-torn reaches.

The Crimson Slaughter stand among the numerous Chapter-turned-warbands native to the Eye of Terror, their founding identity recorded as deliberately obscure, a mark of how thoroughly the warp is held to erase what it claims. They are best understood alongside other Khorne-aligned raiders contesting the same contested marches of the Eye, their fleet actions binding them, region by region, to the long history of Imperial-Chaos conflict along the Cadian Gate rather than to any single dated campaign.
