Decimus Felix

Decimus Felix is a Tetrarch of Ultramar, a regional governor of the Ultramarines’ realm, recorded among the Imperial commanders of the Plague Wars. The title belongs to the civil order of the Five Hundred Worlds, in which each tetrarchy is a subdivision of Ultramar answerable to Macragge, seat of the Ultramarines and of Roboute Guilliman. A Tetrarch therefore holds administrative and defensive authority over a portion of the realm, but is a ruler of planets and their populations rather than a battle-brother of the Chapter.

His principal recorded appearance is in the Plague Wars of about 012.M42, when Mortarion and the Death Guard invaded Ultramar after the opening of the Great Rift. He is listed on the Imperial side alongside Guilliman, Chapter Master Marneus Calgar, Tribune Actuarius Maldovar Colquan and Fleetmaster Isaish Khestrin. The campaign is recorded as an overall Imperial victory in which the Daemon Primarch Mortarion was banished and the realm was ravaged but held. The sources available to Orrery do not state which tetrarchy Felix governed, his origins, or his individual actions within the war, and this dossier does not supply them.

Felix is best understood as one of the civil office-holders who shared the defence of Ultramar with the Ultramarines and the realm’s fleets. The office is older than his tenure: Tetrarchs Eikos Lamiad and Tauro Nicodemus are recorded among Guilliman’s commanders at the Battle of Calth in 007.M31, during the Horus Heresy. The same governing structure appears in the accounts of Konor, whose Tetrarch is recorded as holding firm against the Death Guard. His status in the present era is unknown, and no death or removal is recorded. On the map his anchor is Ultramar; on the timeline it is the Plague Wars, in the first years of the Indomitus Crusade.
