Krukesh

Krukesh, called the Wolf, is a Night Lords officer of the Horus Heresy era, remembered for terror tactics consistent with his Legion’s doctrine. He is identified as a field commander within the Night Lords Legion, the VIII Legion of Space Marines raised by the Emperor of Mankind and later placed under the primarch Konrad Curze. The epithet "the Wolf" is associated with his practice of wearing pelts taken from slain foes and beasts, a personal affectation rather than a formal Legion honorific, and one broadly consistent with the Night Lords’ wider use of trophies and psychological intimidation in warfare.

Accounts of Krukesh’s career place him among the Legion’s junior or mid-ranking commanders during the era of the Horus Heresy, the galaxy-spanning civil war in which Warmaster Horus led half of the Space Marine Legions in rebellion against the Emperor. Within this conflict, the Night Lords were counted among the traitor Legions, and Krukesh’s recorded activity reflects the Legion’s characteristic approach to war: small, autonomous strike forces employing ambush, terror, and the deliberate cultivation of fear among enemy populations and combatants rather than set-piece battle. Surviving references to Krukesh do not establish a detailed campaign history, and accounts of his specific engagements and ultimate fate are not firmly attested.
