Lebonda

Lebonda is recorded as a trooper of the Tanith First-and-Only, the Imperial Guard regiment at the centre of the Gaunt’s Ghosts series. Accounts differ as to whether Lebonda is of Tanith or Verghastite origin, reflecting the regiment’s composite make-up following the destruction of Tanith and the subsequent absorption of Verghastite volunteers into its ranks.

As a member of the regiment, Lebonda served under the command of Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt during the regiment’s campaigns across the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Surviving references to Lebonda place the character among the rank-and-file troopers whose service is noted in passing within the regiment’s broader narrative, rather than among its named officers or specialists. Specific engagements and the extent of Lebonda’s service history are not established with certainty in available accounts.
