Nyadra’zatha

Nyadra’zatha, the Burning One, is a C’tan who taught the Necrons to build the Dolmen Gates, portals of living stone that open into the Webway. It gave this instruction in the last years of the War in Heaven, the conflict in which the Necrons opposed the Old Ones, who had constructed the Webway. The Dolmen Gates are regarded as its gift to the Necrons.

The Dolmen Gates allowed the armies of Szarekh to convert the Webway, the enemy’s system of passages, into a route of invasion. This shortened a war that had already been fought over a very long period. In the process Nyadra’zatha carried eldritch fire into a space that had not been intended to contain it. The Aeldari have been repairing the resulting damage since that time.

Shards of Nyadra’zatha continue to burn on battlefields. Its original appetite was directed not at planets but at the passages between them.
