Occam the Untrue

Occam the Untrue is an Alpha Legionary who led the Redacted, a Legion cell, and advocated sabotaging the Imperium from within. He regarded the Imperium as a machine that required such sabotage, and he treated the Horus Heresy as a form of quality control. Other members of the Legion called him “the Untrue” because he maintained the pretence that the Legion, referred to as the hydra, still served Terra.

After the formation of the Rift, Occam raided successor Chapters of the Ultramarines in the Maelstrom under Harrowmaster Carthach. He later accepted a bargain with the Necrons in exchange for the location of Omegon, the Alpha Legion primarch. A tesseract involved in the arrangement produced a Bloodthirster. The Omegon at the galactic core proved to be a shard of the Deceiver, a C’tan, which was using Legion labour to raise pylons.

The Redacted perished while closing the trap. Occam killed the Necron Cryptek responsible and departed as a warband of one. The Legion retains a leader of his kind, but he no longer commands a company.
