Slau Dha

Slau Dha is an eldar member of the Cabal, an alliance of alien powers active during the Horus Heresy. The Cabal is described in surviving accounts as a coalition drawing together several non-human intelligences, working in concert toward goals that remained largely opaque to the human factions of the era. Slau Dha is identified within this body as one of its eldar representatives, distinguished by a capacity to act as a named individual voice rather than a mere delegate of an undifferentiated collective.

Accounts of the Horus Heresy record Slau Dha as a principal point of contact between the Cabal and the Alpha Legion, communicating directly with the Legion’s primarchs, Alpharius and Omegon. Through this channel, the Cabal is said to have sought the Alpha Legion’s cooperation in a scheme intended to forestall a catastrophe the alliance believed the galaxy was moving toward, framing its overtures in terms of necessity rather than open alliance. The precise terms offered, and the degree to which they were accepted, are recorded unevenly across differing tellings of these events, and the full scope of the Cabal’s ambitions is not consistently resolved.

Slau Dha’s significance lies chiefly in serving as one of the few individually named alien figures associated with the Horus Heresy’s inner political manoeuvring, rather than with its battlefields. The character is treated in later tradition as emblematic of the Cabal’s method of operating through quiet diplomacy and long-term calculation, standing apart from the more overt conflicts that define the wider conflict.
