Solomon Voss

Solomon Voss was a remembrancer of the Remembrancer Order, attached to a Space Marine Legion expedition in the years preceding the Horus Heresy. The Order was instituted by the Emperor of Mankind to embed civilian artists, writers, historians, and other chroniclers within the Great Crusade’s expeditionary fleets, so that the unification of humanity’s scattered worlds might be recorded for posterity.

Like other remembrancers of the period, his position placed him among the military and logistical apparatus of a Legion expedition rather than within its command structure, and his standing depended on the goodwill of the officers who tolerated the Order’s presence. The wider Remembrancer Order came under increasing strain as the Great Crusade drew to its close and divisions within the Legions sharpened, a tension that culminated in the outbreak of the Horus Heresy.
