Syll’Esske

Syll’Esske is a paired daemonic entity of Slaanesh, comprising the Herald Syll and the Daemon Prince Esske in a single fighting form. Slaanesh joined the two in this shape after they refused to ascend through the god’s court alone. Syll serves as the voice and the lash of the pairing. Esske, originally a mortal, attained the rank of Daemon Prince with difficulty and did not part from Syll thereafter.

Helbane has employed the pair as long-standing allies. Other Keepers of Secrets, the Greater Daemons of Slaanesh, regard their devotion as either exquisite or tactless. Syll’Esske pays no regard to these opinions and has previously been the subject of scandal.

The pairing illustrates that Slaanesh’s excess extends to loyalty, a quality that is rarer among daemons and therefore more fashionable. Daemons commonly betray those above them; Syll’Esske instead renounced the condition of being a single individual.
