Zodgrod Wortsnagga

Zodgrod Wortsnagga is an Ork Runtherd of the Snakebites clan, a handler of Gretchin and Squigs in the tradition of the wandering, beast-keeping Feral Orks. A Runtherd is the Ork who herds and drives Gretchin, and among the Snakebites the office carries unusual standing. Zodgrod Wortsnagga is recorded as one of the clan’s named Runtherdz, an example of the role rather than a warlord in his own right.

The Snakebites are a clan that keeps no fixed homeworld. It distrusts advanced technology, and it breeds Gretchin, Squigs and the great Squiggoth, so Runtherdz and Weirdboyz hold higher status there than in most clans. Zodgrod Wortsnagga’s office places him within that breeding and herding tradition, and it is the clearest attested fact about his career. No dated campaign, master, homeworld or manner of death is firmly recorded for him, and accounts do not connect him to a particular WAAAGH!. This page therefore does not assign him battles or a rank that the record does not support.

His significance is illustrative. He shows how a Snakebites Runtherd stands within the clan’s hierarchy, and he belongs with the clan’s other named figures, whose histories are not connected to one another. Among them are Hruk Teefsplinta, whose WAAAGH! of 855.M41 overran the Shrine Worlds of Marlisanct, and Old Zogwort, a Weirdboy whom Snakebites tradition claims as one of its own. No timeline or map anchor is attested for Zodgrod Wortsnagga, and his present status is unknown.
