Ambush in Psychedelta

The Ambush in Psychedelta was fought within Psychedelta, a subrealm of the Webway, as the Ynnari travelled towards Kalisus. The engagement belongs to the closing period of the 41st millennium, within the span of events known as the Gathering Storm, though no precise date for it survives in the account. Ahzek Ahriman had learned of a new power said to be capable of restoring the dead. In preparation, Ahriman sacrificed nine hundred and ninety-nine captives to Tzeentch. He then fell upon the travelling Ynnari with a host of Thousand Sons, supported by nine warriors known as the Exiles. In the course of the fighting, Ahriman used his sorcery to cast Yvraine, the Visarch, and the Yncarne out of the Webway, separating the three from their company. Yvraine responded by restoring twelve Rubricae to life, and offered this restoration to Ahriman in exchange for the lives of herself, the Visarch, and the Yncarne. Ahriman accepted the bargain and brought the three Ynnari leaders back within the Webway. Yvraine then cast the twelve restored Rubricae into an abyss, and Ahriman turned from the Ynnari to pursue them. Yvraine escaped.
