Assault on Zoran

The Assault on Zoran was a battle of the forty-first millennium on the ice world of Zoran, in which the Blood Angels and the White Scars under Kor’sarro Khan defeated an Alpha Legion uprising led by the Daemon Prince Kernax Voldorius. The Alpha Legion had incited the revolt, and the Blood Angels Captain Metraen led elements of his Chapter’s 3rd and 8th Companies to suppress it. The attack stalled when the Alpha Legion’s base of operations proved to be an ancient Imperator Titan. Half-buried in the ice, the Titan retained working void shields and weapons batteries, and many Blood Angels were killed in the assault; Metraen feared that he might have to order Exterminatus, the destruction of all life on the planet. Kor’sarro Khan and the White Scars then arrived in support, and the combined Space Marine force won the battle. Voldorius escaped, but his followers on Zoran were killed to the last man. Zoran is recorded among the places where Voldorius eluded Kor’sarro during the Hunt for Voldorius, the decade-long pursuit that ended on Quintus in 871.M41.
