Battle of Aionos

The Battle of Aionos was an engagement fought by Commissar Sebastian Yarrick against the Heretic Astartes warband Harkanor’s Reavers on the moon of Aionos. Aionos orbits the gas giant Kylasma, near but not recorded as part of the Statheros System; no segmentum or coordinates are recorded. The moon was covered with the wreckage of civilian ships and with ancient xenos pyramids, implied but not confirmed to be of Necron origin. Approximately a hundred years before the Second War for Armageddon, in a year not otherwise recorded, Yarrick led the 252nd Steel Legion against the warband in this engagement. Harkanor’s Reavers were Heretic Astartes, Space Marines who had turned against the Imperium. As his force withdrew, the ancient xenos within the pyramids were recorded as having stirred; he is not recorded as having fought them.
