Battle of Deluge
The Battle of Deluge was fought on the world Deluge during the Horus Heresy; no segmentum, system, or coordinates are recorded for it, so this Deluge is not identified with any other world of the same name. One account dates the battle to about 013.M31, while a Heresy battle list places it in the 011–012.M31 period, and the two are not reconciled here. After Angron became a daemon, the World Eaters slaughtered world after world and refused Horus’s summons to a muster at Ullanor. Perturabo was sent to bring the Legion in, and on Deluge he found the population killed and stacked. Khârn stood on a mound of the dead on Deluge and urged Perturabo and his escort to leave. World Eaters and daemons of Khorne then attacked. Several thousand Iron Warriors held against them with a shield wall and tanks, and Perturabo boxed the World Eaters into isolated pockets. Angron himself attacked Perturabo and was subdued only by Perturabo, Volk, the Iron Circle, and other Iron Warriors. An Ultramarines fleet arrived in orbit as the battle continued. Angron then opened a warp storm that carried both the Iron Warriors and World Eaters fleets away to Ullanor. Khârn was present on Deluge when he warned Perturabo to withdraw; the attack on Perturabo that followed was led by Angron, not by Khârn.
