Battle of Haeleon
The Battle of Haeleon was fought on the planet Haeleon during Abaddon the Despoiler’s Thirteenth Black Crusade, at the close of the 41st millennium; no narrower year, sector, or coordinates are recorded. Khârn the Betrayer led his warband of Khorne Berzerkers against a White Scars force there and defeated it, but the White Scars khan, who is not named, withdrew before the fighting ended. Khârn, holding that no battle was won while a single enemy still lived, pursued the khan across Haeleon’s shimmering, mirror-like surfaces, where the planet itself posed hazards to the pursuit. Abaddon, who wished to bind Khârn’s strength to his crusade, had ordered Captain Talomar Locq and his Hounds of Abaddon, a Black Legion warband, to find him. They reached Haeleon too late and searched a seemingly derelict White Scars ship for word of where Khârn had gone.
