Battle of Kornovin
The Battle of Kornovin was fought in 901.M41 on Kornovin, after Mortarion had ravaged a number of sectors. He led Death Guard warbands and Nurgle’s daemons there, and nearly the whole of the Grey Knights Chapter met him under Supreme Grand Master Geronitan. Mortarion killed Geronitan. Kaldor Draigo, who was then made Supreme Grand Master, spoke a true name that the Emperor had intended for Mortarion. Mortarion’s body was destroyed, and Draigo carved Geronitan’s name into the primarch’s heart; Mortarion’s spirit was banished to the warp. The battle is recorded as an Imperial pyrrhic victory.
