Battle of Malak

The Battle of Malak was fought in M42 on and above the shrine world Malakbael, in the Malak System, within Imperium Nihilus; no segmentum or coordinates are recorded, and no year narrower than M42 is given. The world had grown important after Inquisitor Glori Emagna discovered the Choral Engine there. The Indomitus Crusade’s Fleet Quartus mustered at Malakbael under Fleetmaster Trincus Abconcis, whose name is also recorded as Abcondis. Angron and the World Eaters attacked the muster. Khârn led a boarding action against the fleet’s flagship, the battleship Honour of Terra, in orbit above Malakbael; the boarders overran the ship and killed the fleetmaster. Khârn is not recorded on Malakbael’s surface. In the final stage of the battle, Angron, empowered by Khorne, destroyed the Choral Engine, and the planet broke apart. A warp rift remained where Malakbael had been, and daemons of Khorne came through it. Debris from the destroyed world struck the other worlds of the Malak System.
