Battle of Xalladin

The Battle of Xalladin was fought in the Xalladin System after the opening of the Great Rift. When word reached the Iron Council that the relic known as the Brimstone Heart had been located there, Clan Raukaan under Master of the Forge Feirros was dispatched to retrieve it. The Heart had become a planetary shield generator on Xalladin II, where the stranded Imperial Fists 3rd Company under Tor Garadon was fighting to save the population from the Orks of Waaagh! Boneskar and refused to allow the relic to be removed. As the Orks prepared a mass assault, the Iron Hands and Imperial Fists nearly came to blows. Raven Guard Chapter Master Kayvaan Shrike, leading a Raven Guard relief force against the Orks, ended the dispute by covertly destroying the overtaxed relic. With the source of conflict removed, the three Imperial forces united and defeated the Orks. Relations between the Imperial Fists and the Iron Hands remained strained afterwards, and both Feirros and Garadon retained suspicions toward Shrike concerning the fate of the Brimstone Heart.
