Conquest of Byzas

The Conquest of Byzas was a campaign of the Great Crusade in which Fulgrim, primarch of the Emperor’s Children, took the feral world of Byzas with a party of only seven Space Marines. The seven were Narvo Quin, Grythan Thorn, Abdemon, Flavius Alkenex, Kasperos Telmar, Fabius and Cyrius; they were accompanied by the elderly Golconda Pyke, who served as iterator, an Imperial envoy and propagandist, and diplomat. On Byzas Fulgrim refused aid from a local brotherhood of warriors, because to accept it would have meant admitting his own imperfection. He came close to death in the fighting, yet conquered the world.
