Discovery of Corvus Corax
The Discovery of Corvus Corax is the event linked to Deliverance, the moon formerly called Lycaeus, where Corax led a slave revolt and liberated the world. Corax later became primarch of the Raven Guard (the XIX Legion). The event is set on a moon that was then worked as a mining world. Lycaeus was worked by slaves as a mining world. Corax led those slaves in revolt and freed the moon from the system that held them. He renamed it Deliverance, and the Legion subsequently made it a fortress-world. Deliverance is the inhabited moon of Kiavahr and the site of the Ravenspire, the Raven Guard’s fortress. The moon has no atmosphere, so its settlements lie beneath force domes, protective energy fields that make habitation possible. It remains tied to the foundries of Kiavahr, and the Ravenspire lies in the shadow of that world’s industry. The moon connects three episodes: Corax’s liberation of Lycaeus, the establishment of the Ravenspire, and the XIX Legion’s course from this base to Isstvan V, where it suffered severe losses.
