Fall of Sanctia

The Fall of Sanctia took place in 437.M36. Orks had first consumed the planet’s defenders and grown bloated on them; the Adepta Sororitas were purging the Orks when Mortarion and the Death Guard struck. Mortarion caused the dead Orks to burst open, revealing Nurglings within them. The Death Guard and Nurgle’s daemons overran the planet within twenty hours, with Mortarion present throughout. Mortarion then carried plague into the wider Ecclesiarchy system.
