First Aurelian Crusade Tyranid invasion
The Tyranid invasion of the First Aurelian Crusade was the advance of a Tyranid splinter fleet into Subsector Aurelia in late M41, finally broken on the jungle world of Typhon Primaris. Ork attacks on Calderis, stirred up by an Aeldari raiding party that hoped to blunt the hive fleet’s approach, had drawn the Blood Ravens’ Fourth Company into the subsector, and Captain Davian Thule was gravely wounded as the Tyranids arrived. Gabriel Angelos, then with the battle barge Litany of Fury in the distant Targa system after a victory over the T’au, set the Fourth Company’s Force Commander, Aramus, three objectives intended to hold the subsector until the whole Chapter could mobilise. The Hive Mind’s shadow in the warp slowed the Chapter fleet and killed astropaths and Librarians one by one, but the fleet reached the Typhon System as the Fourth Company and Tempestus Scions of the 85th Vendoland made their final stand. Angelos landed on Typhon Primaris himself and, with Aramus and his warriors, killed the Hive Tyrant directing the splinter fleet, saving the subsector.
