Kallius Insurrection

The Kallius Insurrection was a rebellion of the worlds of the Kallius Subsector in the late 40th millennium, which ended as an Imperial victory. The Angels Numinous Chapter, sent to suppress the revolt, was overwhelmed by populations and fleets led by Chaos Space Marines from many warbands; one account named the Black Legion among them. The Blood Angels then sent three companies, including one under Captain Dante. One account placed him with the 5th Company, of which he had been captain since 753.M40, while the insurrection account itself placed him with the 8th Company; the two accounts do not agree. The war became a trench war lasting years as more of the Chapter arrived, until Imperial Guard regiments and several other Chapters gave the Blood Angels respite and allowed them to withdraw. Above Kallius’ Landing, a traitor fleet attacked, and three days of void war and boarding actions followed, during which Dante and his warriors took and scuttled seven capital ships. Fewer than two hundred Blood Angels survived the insurrection, roughly nine in ten of the Chapter having been killed, along with almost the whole Chapter Council. Dante was left as the only captain, and the last Sanguinary Priests and Chaplains elected him Chapter Master.
