Sacking of the Etiamnun Reclusiam

Etiamnun III was a barren and airless world of the Ultima Segmentum, notable for a Reclusiam that concealed an inert Webway gate. The Reclusiam was watched in secret by the Order Psykana of the Blood Ravens. The year of the attack upon it is not recorded. The episode is preserved among the narratives of the Blood Ravens from the 41st millennium. Ahzek Ahriman, in his search for a route to the Black Library, learned of the world and its hidden gate. He did not travel to Etiamnun III himself but dispatched a warband under the sorcerer Mordant Hex, known as the Six-Cursed, to seize it. Hex’s force took the Reclusiam, opening its shelters onto the airless surface and killing those who attempted to hide from the vacuum. With the shrine cleared, Hex secured the Webway gate, and his Thousand Sons passed through it into that part of the Webway. A relief force of the Order Psykana reached Etiamnun III after the attackers had already departed. They found a discarded copy of the Tome of Karebennian, an Eldar text reputed to describe routes through the Webway towards the Black Library.
