Salvation's Reach raid
The Salvation’s Reach raid was a covert strike conducted by the Tanith First-and-Only against an Archenemy stronghold during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. The target, a fortified complex known as Salvation’s Reach, served as a repository and workshop for forces loyal to the Archon Anakwanar Sek, and was believed to hold intelligence and matériel of considerable value to the continued prosecution of the crusade. Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt led the operation, inserting a select detachment of Ghosts aboard a captured Archenemy vessel in order to approach the stronghold under conditions of extreme secrecy before breaching its defences. The raiding party encountered an entrenched garrison and hazards peculiar to the site, and was charged with locating and either securing or destroying materiel judged too dangerous to permit further use by the enemy. The raid ended with the destruction of the facility and the withdrawal of the surviving strike force, though not without significant losses among the participating Ghosts. The action was counted among the notable engagements fought by the Tanith First-and-Only during the later stages of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.
