Veil War

The Veil War was a prolonged conflict between the T’au Empire and the Arachen, an alien species, for control of the Western Veil, a region of the T’au Empire. The war began after the Arachen rejected an appeal by the Golden Ambassador to join the T’au Empire and drove the T’au from their territory. The Arachen fought with blade-like limbs, travelled in cocoon-like ships and built their nest-cities as mazes, which made assaults on them slow and costly. Over several years the T’au gained the advantage. During a final offensive by warriors of the Vior’la sept under Commander Dawnstone, a Crisis battlesuit team (a squad of piloted powered combat armour) led by the young Shoh, later known as Commander Farsight, assassinated the Arachen leadership, the Arachen Trinity. Shoh, who had served about four years on the Veil front as a Fire Warrior, lost most of his left leg in the final battle. Without their leaders, the Arachen were driven from the Western Veil.
