Winter Assault / Battle of Lorn V

The Battle of Lorn V, also called the Winter Assault, was fought in late M41 around the wreck of the Imperator Titan Dominatus, which lay atop the Arcadian Gate, an ancient Webway portal on the frozen former Exodite world of Lorn V. Seven forces contested the site: the Cadian 412th under General Sturnn, supported by warriors in Ultramarines colours under Chaplain Varnus who were secretly of the Alpha Legion; a World Eaters company under Lord Crull; Farseer Taldeer’s Ulthwé host, which allied with Sturnn against the Necrons; the Evil Sunz Waaagh! of Gorgutz ’Ead ’Unter; an awakening Necron force; the Alpha Legion; and the Third and Ninth Companies of the Blood Ravens. Taldeer, the sole Aeldari survivor, teleported aboard the battle barge Litany of Fury and asked for Gabriel Angelos, who reached Lorn V after the fall of Rahe’s Paradise. Setting aside charges of heresy brought by Captain Ulantis of the Ninth Company, Angelos followed Taldeer with a small squad through a breach in the Webway to the Harlequin world of Arcadia and returned with the last Blade of Vaul, which he gave to Farseer Macha. With it Macha destroyed the Necrons, and she was not seen again.
