Aexe Cardinal is a Sabbat world that never fully fell, which only meant forty years of trench war between the hidebound Aexe Alliance and the Chaos-held Shadik Republic. Blood Pact stiffened Shadik when Imperial reinforcements arrived, and the stalemate continued. Cavalry here still ride flightless struthids; lasguns were a novelty.
