Aexe Cardinal

Aexe Cardinal is a Sabbat world that did not fully fall to Chaos and endured forty years of trench warfare between two rival states. The opposing parties are the Aexe Alliance and the Chaos-held Shadik Republic.

The Aexe Alliance is a hidebound power, and it faced the Shadik Republic in a prolonged trench war. When Imperial reinforcements arrived, Blood Pact forces strengthened the Shadik side. The reinforcement did not alter the outcome, and the stalemate continued.

The world is noted for the archaic character of its armies. Its cavalry still ride flightless struthids, and lasguns remained a novelty during the conflict. Aexe Cardinal thus stands as a Sabbat world where a long, static war was fought with a mixture of old and modern equipment.
