Antecanis IV

Antecanis IV was a world without attested coordinates, site of the Antecanis Massacre during the Ninth Black Crusade. That crusade was known as the Starving of Cancephalus, and accounts differ on when it began: one dates its opening to 165.M37, as an attack on Antecanis IV, while another places it in 537.M38, and both dates are given here without preference.

Abaddon drew Imperial forces to Antecanis IV, luring them into the massacre as a means of pulling defenders away from the naval fortress of Cancephalus, his true objective. Once his fleet held orbit over Antecanis IV, Abaddon destroyed the planet outright with cyclonic torpedoes.

In the seventeen years that followed, Abaddon’s forces ravaged the surrounding sector.
