Attila

Attila is a single-continent steppe world inhabited by horse tribes and herds of ovigor, with one city, Khanasan. Its clans are the source from which the Astra Militarum, the Imperial Guard, draws its Rough Riders.

The Astra Militarum recruits Rough Riders directly from the Attilan clans. After the Rift, Imperial planners plotted an Attilan Gate as a second stable crossing, in addition to Nachmund. Necrons of the Sautekh Dynasty have already probed the world.

Attila is therefore of standing to the Imperium in two respects: as the origin of the Rough Rider regiments, and as the intended site of a second stable crossing. The Sautekh presence indicates that the Necrons regard the world as a possible objective.
