Aurum

Aurum is a feral world in the Orpheus Salient of the Jericho Reach, home to a warrior culture visited by Deathwatch kill-teams in The Emperor Protects. The entry denotes this Deathwatch setting and not a precious-metal hive world.

The society centres on Haistand’s Caele and its bronze-skinned clans, whose culture involves diablodons and theratryx mounts. To an observer, the world presents as an orderly warrior society. That impression changes in Grensvayl, where malissectors turn the hunt against xenos. The Achilus Crusade sought the warriors of Aurum as recruits. The Deathwatch sent a kill-team only after sermons had failed to secure their compliance.

Aurum remains notable as a feral world in the Deathwatch role-playing game. It should be distinguished from Beseritor, the hive world of the Jericho Reach, and from Watch Fortress Erioch. Unofficial summaries retain the Ultima Segmentum as its parent grouping.
