Badab II
Badab II, also called Badab Primaris, was the hive capital of the Badab Sector and the seat of the Astral Claws until 912.M41. As the sector’s administrative and industrial heart, it anchored the Chapter’s authority over the surrounding systems and served as the public face of a dominion that, under its last master, grew increasingly independent of wider Imperial oversight.
Lufgt Huron ruled the world from the Palace of Thorns, with the fortress-hive of Hive Dominar standing alongside it as a second seat of power. It was from Badab II that Huron directed the secession of the Badab Sector, the act that drew the Imperium’s loyalist Chapters into what came to be known as the Badab War. The conflict reached its climax at Badab II itself in 912.M41, when a sustained loyalist assault broke the Astral Claws’ hold on the world and left it a radioactive dead husk.
In the war’s aftermath, the Star Phantoms inherited stewardship of the Badab Sector, while Huron escaped the defeat by fleeing into the Maelstrom, where he was transformed by dark powers into the pirate lord later known as Huron Blackheart. Badab II, the world that had once housed his palace and his fleets, remains a lifeless, irradiated ruin, its ruin standing as the clearest marker of where the Astral Claws’ secession was finally broken.
