Baraspine

Baraspine is an Adrantis hive that is tidally locked and does not rotate, so its inhabitants live at the poles. The name is spelt Barsapine in some sources, but the form Baraspine is used here.

Because the world does not rotate, settlement is confined to the polar regions. The hive’s economy rests on exports, chiefly cogitation cells and pottery.

Governance of Baraspine rests with a college of soothsayers, which selects the hive’s governors. Published population figures for the hive disagree, and no single estimate can be regarded as settled.
