Bellicas

Bellicas is a tomb world in the Ultima Segmentum and former homeworld of the Emperor’s Swords Chapter, which Necrons destroyed after awakening in late M41.

The Emperor’s Swords, a Space Marine Chapter, had established their fortress-monastery on the world above a dormant Necron tomb. When the Necrons awoke, they spent several years killing every battle-brother of the Chapter. The Fire Lords, a separate Chapter, arrived later and burned the tomb in retaliation. Later Dark Imperium sources still list the Emperor’s Swords in orders of battle, although the entry records a Chapter that no longer exists as a fighting force.

Bellicas is chiefly cited as a cautionary example of building a monastery on a tomb world. The entry concerns the Necron destruction of the Emperor’s Swords and should not be read as a recruiting world of the Fire Lords. Unofficial summaries retain its Ultima Segmentum placement and do not merge it with Mandragora, the Sautekh crownworld.
