Bregundia

Bregundia is a feudal world of the Imperium and a recruiting world of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter. No system is recorded for it.

The world is ruled by knightly orders known as societies. Chaplains of the Dark Angels visit it every few decades to choose the most able knightly aspirants and squires for testing. Belial, later Grand Master of the Deathwing, was born there into the nobility of the Society of the Ebon Star, the son of its governing Magister Militum.

At about eleven standard years of age Belial was forbidden by his father to enter the tournament that chose the society’s candidate. He entered it in another knight’s armour with his visor lowered and won. When Chaplain Lamorak ordered him to show his face, he chose to fight the Chaplain instead. Lamorak defeated him after a duel of about seven minutes, then overruled the father’s objection and accepted Belial as an aspirant.
