Charnel Shrine

The Charnel Shrine is a space hulk, a drifting conglomeration of dozens of fused vessels extending over more than twenty cubic kilometres. No segmentum, region, or coordinates are recorded for it. It is not the space hulk Charnel Spectre.

The hulk was inhabited by a Genestealer brood and an Ork tribe at opposite ends, which seemed unaware of each other. During the 13th Black Crusade in 999.M41, Grand Master Gabriel of the Dark Angels was killed leading the Deathwing in a boarding attack on it.

Gabriel’s successor, Belial, later led the Deathwing back aboard. After seventy-three days of fighting the hulk was destroyed by an overloaded plasma reactor.
