Cocytus II

Cocytus II is the twin of Cocytus I. The two worlds kept orbit at the edge of the Sentinel Sector, on the margin of the Eye of Terror, and were not recorded as fully immersed in the Eye. They lie in Segmentum Obscurus, and no finer placement is attested.

During the Forgotten Wars the fighting spread onto the wasteland continents of both planets, against cultists, mutants and renegades. Cypher eluded the Unforgiven twice and warned that they were entering a trap. Supreme Grand Master Purson ordered a retreat as warp storms closed. The Lions Sable refused to withdraw. Purson returned to the surface with only his bodyguard, ordered the fleet to clear the Eye, and was not seen again; nor was the Lions Sable.

The frigate Vendetta was lost in the warp during the withdrawal. The rest of the fleet escaped past the Cadian Gate. A few years inside the storms were more than a thousand years in realspace. When the storms ended, a task force found no sign of either world.
