Conqueror

The Conqueror was the flagship of the World Eaters Legion during the Horus Heresy, serving as Angron’s principal command vessel. As the Legion’s foremost capital warship, it carried the Primarch and his senior commanders through the Legion’s campaigns of the mid-to-late Heresy, functioning as both a mobile headquarters and a symbol of the World Eaters’ martial authority within the wider Traitor host gathered under Horus.

The vessel is most closely associated with the World Eaters’ punitive descent on Nuceria, Angron’s homeworld, an episode set in the years after the Legion had committed itself to the Warmaster’s rebellion. Khârn, the Legion’s First Captain, is commonly attested to have served aboard the Conqueror and to have confronted his Primarch there, reflecting the ship’s role as the setting for key confrontations within the World Eaters’ command structure as the Butcher’s Nails implant drove Angron and his sons toward ever greater savagery. Other senior World Eaters captains are recorded as moving with the fleet during this period, though the Conqueror’s command deck remained Angron’s own.

As a fixture of the World Eaters’ order of battle, the Conqueror stands apart from the flagships of other Traitor Legions active in the same Heresy years, such as Horus’s own Vengeful Spirit; its story is bound instead to Angron’s private war against his own past rather than to the Warmaster’s wider strategic campaigns. Its most attested contemporaries are therefore internal to the Legion — Angron, Khârn, and the World Eaters’ officer corps — rather than figures from rival Legions or the Imperial defence.

No precise galactic coordinates are attested for the Conqueror; it is conventionally associated with the World Eaters’ fleet operations of the Horus Heresy era rather than any fixed system of record. Its ultimate fate following the war’s conclusion is not clearly established in the accounts that reference it, and later tradition offers no consistent record of the ship’s survival or destruction.
