Cygnax

Cygnax, also written Gygnax, was a militarised hive world and Imperial lynchpin of the northern Maelstrom Zone until it was left lifeless in 577.M41. It served as a principal military centre of that region.

In 577.M41, heretic death cults and the Reborn seized the world’s atomic and plasma stocks. They then burned every living thing from its surface, leaving Cygnax a dead world.

The loss disrupted the Zone’s Imperial chain for decades. Sagan and Badab were obliged to assume the functions that Cygnax could no longer perform.
