Devlan

Devlan is an Eastern Fringe mining world in the Ultima Segmentum that Hive Fleet Kraken consumed in 990.M41. It was the site of a last stand by the Lamenters Space Marine Chapter and Cadian troops, and its name is also borne by a paint shade. This entry denotes that evacuation world and no other location.

The Novastorm stations delayed the advance of the hive fleet. Key personnel were evacuated, while most of the civilian population was treated as secondary cargo. A Lamenters company was destroyed in the final fighting in the streets. A wrecked freighter seeded further threats, among them the hunting ground of the Red Terror. Devlan was lost to Kraken, and the Imperium closed its census of the world.

Devlan remains significant as a named victim of Hive Fleet Kraken and for the losses it cost a single Chapter. Unofficial summaries retain the Ultima parent and do not merge this entry with Mortrex, Tyran, Ichar IV, or a mining tithe still in operation.
