Dharrovar
Dharrovar is a Traitor Knight world of House Mandrakor on the Nachmund Gauntlet, whose allegiance changed to Chaos after the Great Rift opened. It is described as a cold, razor-ridged planet. A knight world is one whose ruling noble house fields Imperial Knights, large armoured war engines that serve as the principal martial and political strength of the house. Dharrovar therefore matters less as a strategic prize in itself than as a source of Knight power whose loyalty decided which side that power served.
The world’s recorded turning point falls in the period after the opening of the Great Rift. King Kaligius led House Mandrakor into treachery against the Imperium, and the house’s Knights passed from Imperial service to the cause of Chaos. Freeblades, knights bound to no house, who remained loyal to the Imperium, left the world rather than take part in the defection. This division between the ruling house and the unaligned knights is the clearest internal fracture attested on Dharrovar.
The Imperium responded with a siege of the planet, but the attempt collapsed when the armada of the Chaos warlord Haarken Worldclaimer arrived. The failure of the siege left Mandrakor in possession of its world and placed Dharrovar among those worlds of the Nachmund Gauntlet whose allegiance changed following the Rift. In the graph, the principal contemporaries are King Kaligius, who holds the world, Haarken Worldclaimer, whose intervention preserved the defection, and the loyalist Freeblades who departed before the siege.
The Dark Mechanicum moon Omega-Threx continues to supply the world’s engines, tying Dharrovar’s Knights to a source of Chaos-aligned artifice as well as to their own noble house. The present status of the world is that of an established Traitor Knight holding. Accounts of further campaigns fought there are not firmly attested, and none are assumed here.
