Dreah

Dreah is a Markayn agricultural world characterised by the uniformly grey colouring of its inhabitants, crops, sky and water. The sameness of hue extends across the population, the harvest and the natural environment alike.

The absence of colour shapes the world’s commerce. Dreahans pay for colour, which creates demand for two kinds of trade. Dye merchants profit from supplying pigments, and smugglers of hallucinogenic substances profit more, since these too offer the inhabitants an experience of colour.

Dreah is linked to other worlds by Warp routes, the passages through the immaterial realm used for interstellar travel. These routes lead to Prol IX and Iocanthos. Through them the world maintains its trade, both lawful and illicit, with those systems.
