Elysiar

Elysiar is a verdant planet in Modren’s Realm, described in the Rogue Trader module The Twilight Crusade, and is distinct from Elysia. It is the fourth planet of Modren’s Realm, a domain held by a Warrant-holder. Elysia, by contrast, is the homeworld of the Elysian Drop Troops, associated with grav-chutes and pirate moons.

Elysiar appears hospitable, but its environment is hazardous to settlers. Microscopic parasites, toxic plants, carnivorous arthropods and sentries left in xenos ruins kill colonists who attempt to settle it. The module’s gazetteer does not classify the planet as a death world, yet it records these dangers in full. No Valkyrie-borne regiment is recorded as having been founded there.

Elysiar is significant chiefly as a colony-trap: a world whose appearance conceals the hazards that defeat settlement. It is not an Elysian Drop Troops fief. This site’s map places it in the Calixis Sector, although the module locates it within a Warrant-holder’s realm. Unofficial summaries retain that sector placement, assign Elysiar no share in Elysia’s boarding-action tithe, and do not attribute a grav-chute founding to it.
