Exhubris II

Exhubris II is a swamp tomb world of xenos pyramids where Stygies VIII and Mars fought Ulthwé for a webway gate in 029.M41. The location belongs to the Obscurus region and is a battleground of the Cult Mechanicus, the Adeptus Mechanicus’s priesthood of the Machine God. It is distinct from Hubris, the icebound world of the Helican sector.

Explorators of Stygies VIII began opening the pyramids, whereupon Eldar of Ulthwé emerged from hidden portals. Dominus Kryptaestrex answered the distress of the Stygies force, motivated by the prospect of obtaining a working gate rather than by loyalty to Stygies. Reinforcements from Mars drove back the Eldar, and one portal was captured. The Magos then returned to the tombs. The architecture of the pyramids is presumed to be Necron in origin.

Exhubris II retains its standing as a named engagement of the Quest for Knowledge, the Cult Mechanicus’s pursuit of lost technology. Unofficial summaries keep the world under its Obscurus parent and do not assign it to the Hubris system, despite the similarity of the names.
