Fal’shia

Fal’shia is a T’au artisan sept in the First Sphere, where Earth Caste engineers turn prototypes into doctrine. The Earth Caste is the T’au artisan and engineering caste, and its members at Fal’shia develop new equipment and prepare it for wider adoption.

Fire Warriors, the T’au line infantry, stationed on Fal’shia are often the first to field-test new armour and weapons. The trials frequently expose malfunctions, which the testing units bear before the designs are refined. Munitions plants occupy much of the world’s surface. During a Tyranid attack on Fal’shia, Commander O’Shi’ur, a prominent T’au commander, was killed while defending it.

Fal’shia’s standing rests on its role as a proving ground that links Earth Caste design work to the equipment and methods used by T’au forces. Its concentration of munitions production adds to that industrial importance. The death of Commander O’Shi’ur during the Tyranid assault is the other event by which the world is most often remembered.
