Galen System

The Galen System is a star system in the Maelstrom Zone that was contested for six years during the Badab War. The Fire Hawks and the secessionist forces both sustained heavy losses there.

Control of the system passed between the opposing sides throughout the six years of fighting. The domes on Galen II failed, and refugees crowded onto Galen VI. In 910.M41 the Sons of Medusa and the Ordo Hereticus subjugated Old City and converted the planet into a prison-state. Survivors were assigned to penal legions, and the world was deliberately kept barely habitable. Galen V, a desert world in the same system, saw less of the conflict.

The Galen System is noted as a Badab War theatre that was later turned into a place of confinement. Unofficial maps continue to give Ultima as its parent region.
