Garm
Garm is a shrine world of the Space Wolves Chapter, named for Garm, a warrior of the Chapter who fell in battle against the Daemon Primarch Magnus the Red during the founding wars of the Imperium. Set aside as consecrated ground, the world is given over to funerary halls, reliquaries and training grounds, maintained by custodians and pilgrims drawn from Fenris and its moons rather than by a standing garrison. Its surface holds relics and monuments to the Chapter’s early history, and companies of the Space Wolves periodically make the journey from Fenris to walk its grounds. Garm attained wider notoriety late in the 41st millennium when a Chaos uprising swept the world and agents of the Thousand Sons breached its vaults to seize the Spear of Russ, a relic associated with the Chapter’s primarch, intending to use it in a ritual to recall Magnus the Red into material form. Space Wolves companies, including that of Berek Thunderfist, were deployed to the shrine world to put down the uprising and recover the stolen relic, fighting through the sorcerer Madox’s followers before the Spear was lost into the warp during the engagement.
