Hydraphur

Hydraphur is the fleet capital of Segmentum Pacificus, with orbital shipyards, a star fort and a surface shared by the Navy, Ecclesiarchy and Mechanicus. The star fort is a fortified installation in orbit above the world. Authority on the surface is divided among the Imperial fleet, the Imperial Church (the Ecclesiarchy) and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Hydraphur surrendered to Bucharis on one occasion and has undertaken penance since. Its orbital shipyards continue to serve as the base of Battlefleet Pacificus, the fleet of the segmentum. Since the opening of the Great Rift, the Black Legion has tested the defences of the system on more than one occasion.

The world’s standing rests on its role as the principal naval base of the segmentum and on the concentration of naval, ecclesiastical and Mechanicus institutions within a single system. Its earlier surrender and its repeated exposure to Black Legion pressure since the Great Rift mark it as a contested position of continuing strategic importance.
